Six months ago, my 2-door sedan and I merged onto I-5 South and never looked back.

Now that it’s six months down the road (har), I thought it would be a good time for some reflection:

Getting my toenails did

In between starting a new job, moving, and working on some major projects for clients, June was an incredibly busy month for me to say the least. So much so that I withstood blinding walls of pink, the smell of lavender and clichéd femininity to treat myself to a pedicure yesterday as my master reward (see right).

It was lovely.

With that said, June didn’t leave much time (read: any) for my videos, but I’m brainstorming some new ones as we speak!

While you are awaiting impatiently for those, I did do a video for my work that I wanted to share with you about a really great San Francisco-based nonprofit called WeOwnTV, which trains youth in Sierra Leone the art of filmmaking. One of my colleagues has already written about it extensively on the company blog, including an interview with the co-founder, so please go there to get the full scoop!

WeOwnTV serves as a reminder to all of us that video is not only a mechanism to record our family outings, friends’ weddings, or even create silly tech videos for that matter, but to change lives:

Well, it’s official. I have officially taken off my self-employed consultant hat.

On Monday, I joined the technology social media marketing and public relations agency The Bateman Group, which is based here in San Francisco – Potrero Hill to be exact. I’m very excited for this new venture and really honored to work with the team of individuals I get to sit beside every day. Class acts.

The future of Small But Fearsome Pixie

So, what does this mean for this site and my videos?

She is still small. And she is still fearsome!

This site and all the work I put into it are extremely important to me. I honestly am happiest when I’m editing my silly little videos. And when you find something that makes you feel that way, you find ways to keep doing it. Obviously, I will not be able to cover as many tech events as I have in the past, but I do have some new recurring video features planned that will totally make up for it. I will also do some more normal text posts about San Francisco tech. But just like my videos, I’ll keep them fun.

As I noted before, I’m also in the process of relaunching this site to something that better fits what I write about and my personal vibe. It should be pretty rad.

Bernalamo: I can do non-techy things, too!

In addition to my new job and this site, today I debuted as Bernalamo’s first ever correspondent. Bernalamo is a video blog headquartered here in San Francisco that’s headed up by two ultra-cool dudes (and friends), Joey and Kristian. The site’s motto is “Forward Thinking Fun.”

For my first segment, I covered the shenanigans that is Bay to Breakers:

Letting go of my Haight

Beyond all this (I haven’t even been in San Francisco for three months!), I’m also moving in two weeks out of the Haight and to Hayes Valley.

I will have a walk-in closet. A dishwasher. Cute boutiques within a few blocks of me. Need a girl say more?

Thank you all for your support! Please feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions, suggestions or just want to say hello. It will in all likelihood make my day to know who’s listening.
