About
Hi. I’m Amy Ziari.
I recently moved to San Francisco after spending the last three years in Portland, Oregon. Originally, I’m from a small farming town in Eastern Oregon and also spent some time Eugene, where I studied public relations at UO.
In Portland, I worked for several years at a marketing agency serving technology and emerging companies throughout the Northwest, followed by a stint as a marcom and PR consultant with tech/services companies and tech-focused communications agencies in both Portland and the Bay Area.
Today, I work at the Bateman Group, a San Francisco-based public relations and social media marketing agency focused primarily on the technology industry. At Bateman, I help implement integrated marketing communications campaigns for the firm’s clients. (Of course, the posts made here are solely my opinion and do not represent the views of my employer or any of its clients, past or present!)
I love writing, business strategy, the Web and learning new things. I make fun, accessible and educational videos on San Francisco tech that I hope you like. I like creating content as much as I like to consume it.
In my personal life, I enjoy lifting weights and being healthy in general, drinking tea and failed attempts at completing the New York Times crossword puzzle. I would wear scarves year round if I could get away with it. I wear dangly earrings a lot.
Why Small But Fearsome Pixie?
This is a nickname a friend gave me to juxtapose my physical state (small gal with short hair) to my work style (I’m not scary, I swear!).
